al-Dalou Family

October 20th 2024 to Present

The al-Dalou family were receiving treatment in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza when it was struck by an IDF strike on October 14th, 2024. Ala’a al-Dalou, the mother of the five al-Dalou children and Shaban al-Dalou were killed in the strike. The other family members Farah (19 years old), Rafah (14 years old), Abdul Rahman (12 years old), and their father, Ahmed all suffered extensive burns. Farah and Abdul Rahman succumbed to their injuries and died. Shaban’s image being engulfed with flames quickly spread around the world.

Rafah has been in the intensive care unit under treatment in a field hospital in Deir Balah. The father Abdul Rahman is mobile, and their son Mohammed, 17 years old, witnessed the death of his Mother and Brother, Shaban, in the terrible fire that claimed their lives and is severely traumatized.

The casualties, suffering, and trauma of this Gazan family have been widely reported in the media, including by Reuters, BBC, and The Guardian.

Humanitarian and Medical Relief Gaza

October 27th 2024 to Present

Through the work with the al-Dalou family and other civilians injured during the Israel-Hamas conflict, we became aware of the chronic shortage of medical supplies and equipment in Gaza. The absence of even basics such as bandages, let alone life-saving medicines, with the issues from starvation and malnutrition, impacts the ability of medical staff to provide adequate treatment to prevent further fatalities from injuries.

We are engaged with European States and International Bodies to provide recommendations and needs assessments of urgent humanitarian aid including medical relief as well as stabilization strategies for Gaza.

Humanitarian Assistance Evaluation & Stabilisation

  • “Urgent Needs” Assessments from Hospitals and NGOs in Gaza
  • Submission of Requirements to Major International Stakeholders/Nation States
  • Recommendation and Review Assessments of the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
  • Appeal for International Assistance for Medical Supplies and Equipment
  • Cooperation with Local NGOs for Coordinated Relief Efforts

Ceasefire, Hostage Release & Stabilisation

October 2023 to Present

In October 2023, prior to the foundation of “No Ordinary Day” we worked on the successful evacuation of foreign nationals and non-governmental organisations from Gaza at the start of the conflict with "Conflict Rescue".

Since that time, we have remained closely involved in Gaza, working with hostage families alongside “We Are All Hostages”, as well briefing governments globally on the ceasefire strategies, geopolitical, hostage crisis, and humanitarian challenges.

We have been uniquely able to communicate effectively and in a neutral manner with the parties in-conflict, as well as the mediating states, and other stakeholders, whether nation state or non-governmental organisations, or international bodies to whom we present our impartial reports and findings to in the U.S., the Middle East and Europe.

Ceasefire/Hostage Release & Stabilisation Activities

  • “Exit Permission and Evacuation Protocols from Gaza for Foreign Nationals
  • Advocacy and Representation of Hostages to Mediators and Stakeholders
  • Geopolitical Monitoring and Analysis of the Conflict
  • Humanitarian Crisis Evaluation
