Over the years, we have supported at-risk Afghans with food and emergency medical intervention, as well as supporting their applications for asylum. The project focuses on ensuring essential survival services such as medical relief and food relief are provided to the most vulnerable populations.
Relief Initiatives are often ad-hoc that is a need for a surgical intervention or the provision of food can occur spontaneously and without notice. Funds may be held in reserve to service these needs as and when they occur. Medical interventions requiring surgeries have will generally 'funding targets', though in the event of medical complication these may change.
There are special considerations in supporting 'at-risk' or 'vulnerable persons' in Afghanistan to protect them from reprisal or persecution.
Therefore in these cases, identities of individuals are verified but also protected as confidential.
